Across The Water

BT, or Brian Transeau to give him his full name, produces music like no one else I’ve ever encountered. With liberal use of pianos, strings, whale sounds, guest vocals and his signature ‘stutter edit’, it was once described as ‘epic house’ and probably fits somewhere between trance and progressive house, with a few breaks thrown in for good measure.

I think this is some of his best work, mainly from 1995-98, and it includes collaborations with electronic music legends Deep Dish, Paul Van Dyk and Sasha. The latter’s remix of Remember in particular sounds really fresh, even 10 years on.

I’ve called this tribute to BT Across The Water partly because he’s American and so that’s where he’s from, but mainly because that’s what Transeau means. Trans eau, geddit? Oh, never mind.

By the way, this is an mp3 so you can listen to it online or, if you decide to download it, you won't need to convert it in iTunes.
