Easy Does It

This was my first (and so far only) attempt at a chill out mix. It's ideal for the morning after the night before or if you just fancy something a bit more relaxing than the usual house bangers.

It's a couple of years old but I still listen to it quite a lot which suggests it's got some longevity. So sit up, put your feet back behind your ears, and relax yourself...

Sunny Vibes

This mix was originally planned for spring but is finally out now to make up for the summer we never had. It's best for poolside listening, so if you don't have one of those, run a lukewarm bath and close your eyes.

To download, just click on 'Free user' (unless you're a Premium user), wait a minute and download it. Easy as that.

Just a word of warning. I'm still having technical issues so this is not a high fidelity recording. For reasons I can't quite fathom, the levels are a bit all over the place, and it starts with a bit of an unintentional bang so mind your ears. I'm looking into this so hopefully future mixes will be better quality.

Gold Rush

After months of technical difficulties I have finally finished my latest mix. It's taken me about 15 attempts in all and I think it's a testament to my track selection that even on the final recording I wasn't fed up with the songs.

There are some absolute belters on here, with my particular favourites being 'Ocean' by Italian newcomer P8, a great bootleg of 'Apocalypse', Axwell's reworking of another Hard-Fi tune, and a couple of cracking Thomas Gold remixes. There'll be more from him on future mixes - he's on fire at the moment. Or perhaps I should say he's something of an alchemist. Geddit?

Across The Water

BT, or Brian Transeau to give him his full name, produces music like no one else I’ve ever encountered. With liberal use of pianos, strings, whale sounds, guest vocals and his signature ‘stutter edit’, it was once described as ‘epic house’ and probably fits somewhere between trance and progressive house, with a few breaks thrown in for good measure.

I think this is some of his best work, mainly from 1995-98, and it includes collaborations with electronic music legends Deep Dish, Paul Van Dyk and Sasha. The latter’s remix of Remember in particular sounds really fresh, even 10 years on.

I’ve called this tribute to BT Across The Water partly because he’s American and so that’s where he’s from, but mainly because that’s what Transeau means. Trans eau, geddit? Oh, never mind.

By the way, this is an mp3 so you can listen to it online or, if you decide to download it, you won't need to convert it in iTunes.

Unpopped

I’ve been thinking about putting together a mix of more commercial tunes for a while, albeit ones with a house twist, but couldn’t seem to find the right blend.

Finally, I came up with this. With a good helping of the usual suspects (Freemasons, Swedish House Mafia, Stuart Price aka Thin White Duke), I’ve even found room for some James Blunt, not something I ever thought I’d be saying. Trust me though, in the hands of Pete Tong and Dave Spoon, it works.
